KATHMANDU, NEPAL, June 11, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine-2015 (ICIDN-2015), a second edition of the tri-annual ICIDN conference series, is going to be held from December 15-18, 2015 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The conference mainly aims to foster interdisciplinary collaborative education for research and innovation in bio-medical sciences for the benefit of humankind. The ICIDN-2015 in particular will be focused on microbiology, infectious diseases, epidemiology, immunology of infectious pathogens. medicinal chemistry, and applications of nanotechnology for the improved diagnosis and treatments of emerging infectious diseases and cancers. This program is jointly organized by Nepalese Forum for Medical Microbiology (NFMM), Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI) and CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Biotechnology (CoEBio), Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China with a support from European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), Basel, Switzerland.

ICIDN-2015 will be accompanied by one day pre-conference short-course on related topics for students and young scientist. Scientific programs of ICIDN-2015 will comprise of Opening Lectures, Keynote/Invited Lectures, other Oral Presentations and Poster Sessions under the symposia topics: Cellular and Molecular Microbiology of Infectious Diseases; Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Surveillance; Microbiome in Health and Infectious Diseases; Immune Response against Infectious Pathogens; Antimicrobials, Vaccines and Alternatives; Drug Design, Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering; Nano-materials and Bio-medical Materials.

Despite the recent tragic earthquakes that hit Nepal, many eminent scientists in the field of microbiology, infectious diseases, immunology, pathology, epidemiology, biotechnology, material sciences and nanotechnology are joining the ICIDN-2015 meeting in Kathmandu in mid-December. The confirmed speakers of the event are Distinguished Professor Ananda Mohan CHAKRABARTY (Department of Microbiology & Immunology, University of Illinois College Of Medicine at Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, USA),Professor Muhammad G. MORSHED (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of British Columbia, BC, Canada), Professor Robert R. BRAGG (Department of Microbial, Biochemical and Food Biotechnology, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa), Professor Mahi R. SINGH (Department of Physics and Astronomy, The University of Western Ontario, Ontario, Canada), and Professor Abdul HAQUE (University Medical and Dental College, The University of Faisalabad, Faisalabad, Pakistan). Many graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and young researchers from Australia, China, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, and USA have already confirmed their participation to ICIDN-2015 representing a diverse background of medicine, clinical sciences, infectious diseases, medical microbiology, epidemiology, public health, environmental health, pathology, medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, material sciences and nanotechnology.
